TWRX delivers full-service pharmaceutical drug rebate management solutions for health providers. TWRX provides a suite of services including formulary management, rebate automation, rebate adjudication, reconciliation, and reporting. TWRX creates more favorable conditions for both payers and consumers, ensuring that rebates are captured for eligible prescription drug expenditures.

Overall Job Purpose

The Formulary Management Pharmacist will lead and drive the development of formularies for the TWRX Specialty, Hospital and Long-Term Care lines of business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Serve as clinical formulary expert for the organization
• Responsible for deep therapeutic class drug understanding including uses, substitution opportunities for Specialty, Hospital and LTC books of business
• Drive the development and maintenance of multiple formularies to support TWRX customer goals and support the lines of business
• Develop pipeline management strategies to incorporate new drug approvals and biosimilar approvals and incorporate them into TWRX formulary strategy
• Analyzes claims data to identify drug utilization trends and formulary management/development opportunities
• With VP of Therapeutic Consulting design and deliver corporate level reporting by therapeutic class identifying current performance and ongoing opportunities
• Identify switching opportunities, exclusion opportunities, and other strategies for maximizing value to customers
• Supports coordination of P&T and drug evaluation activities as needed
• Works closely with operations and implementation teams to execute client needs including monthly reporting development and therapeutic area consultation
• Monitors regulatory changes for impact on formulary and for individual lines of business
• Design and deliver clinical model and reporting identifying pipeline drugs, biosimilars and other future/near future trends that will be impactful to business
• Participate in client facing meetings including sales, account management and consultation
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD with experience in specialty drugs
• Active pharmacist license
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in healthcare industry and managed care roles including formulary management
• Experience in specialty pharmacy drugs, therapeutics, and formulary management/preferred product strategies
• P&T Committee or medical affairs experience of at least two years
• Familiarity with First DataBank and/or Medispan drug files
• Strong project/program management skills
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Thorough clinical knowledge and credibility regarding therapeutic use of drugs
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power-Point, Word
