Overview:
LifeLong Medical Care is looking for a Front Door Screener to work at our TRUST Health Center in Oakland. The Front Door Screener will be stationed at the front door of an open health center wearing site issued PPE. This staff member screen all patients and visitors who come to the clinic for in-person care. They will also be asking a series of screening questions as well as checking appointment status and reviewing the problem list for patients to help with infection control at the site level.

This is a full time, 40 hour/week, benefit eligible position.

Benefits

COVID-19 Vaccine Policy

Unless a reasonable medical or religious accommodation is approved, all employees must receive COVID-19 vaccinations.
Responsibilities:
COVID Infection Control
  • Screen patients and visitors has they arrive to the health
  • Ask a series of provided screening questions to assess risk of COVID infection and Monkeypox
  • Ensure each patient or visitor receive surgical mask before entering the health center
  • Direct patients to the correct location depending on the screening.
  • Communicate with triage nurse or provider of the day of screening findings
  • Maintains clean and pleasing appearance of waiting area
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Administrative
  • Utilize an Electronic Health Record system (EPIC) to check patient appointment status
  • Utilize an Electronic Health Record system (EPIC) to review patient’s problem list to see if a COVID test has been performed in the last 14 days
  • Use triage screener sheets to update patient contact information electronic health records system (EPIC)
  • Maintain inventory for list for hygiene kits
  • Make daily coffee and maintain daily courtesy beverage supplies
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
All employees are provided with personal protective equipment (PPE).

Job Requirements
  • High school diploma/equivalent preferred.
  • Flexibility to work at different LifeLong locations.
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds.
Job Preferences
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English. Ability to read, write, and speak fluently is highly desirable.
