JOB SUMMARY
The Web Developer is responsible for designing, coding and modifying company websites, from layout to function and according to company specifications. The Web Developer will strive to create visually appealing sites that feature user-friendly design and clear navigation within Kidder Mathews brand standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
— Design, develop, test, and maintain Kidder Mathews websites to be functional and user-friendly using industry best practices
— Code and modify web applications to enhance user experience and user’s usability
— Provide system and applications support
— Enforce code quality through unit tests and integration tests
— Partner and collaborate with marketing on UX design (wireframes, full mockups, graphics, etc.)
— Manage CMS configurations and modules
— Create and maintain page templates, custom codes, and objects
— Implement web-based applications for collection, tracking, and reporting of data and produce reports
— Discover and fix programming bugs
— Develop user documentation as requested
— Maintain industry knowledge and develop new skills as necessary
OTHER FUNCTIONS
— Perform other duties or projects as requested

EDUCATION

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
— 3+ years of experience in web development
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
— HTTPS / SSL (basics behind how it works, details about how to implement on a CMS or web server)
— Complete understanding of Certificates (3-way handshake, wildcard vs single domain, full process from key generation to implementation)
— Strong understanding HTML v5, CSS
— Familiarity with frontend JavaScript frameworks (i.e. React, Vue, etc.)
— Extensive knowledge in responsive design
— Experience writing code that consumes internal and 3rd party APIs
— Experience developing frontends with and without a UI/UX designer
— Extensive knowledge of browser support, frontend testing frameworks, developer tools
— Knowledge of state management frameworks like Redux or Flux is a plus
— Knowledge of WordPress or other CMS systems a plus (legacy support, backend)
— Knowledge of SharePoint design is a plus
SKILLS AND ABILITY
— Demonstrated ability to define, scope, and code efficient, scalable web applications
— Demonstrated proficiency with front end web development
— Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multi-task and utilize resources to execute tasks within a deadline-oriented environment
