Job Description:
The GIS Routing Analyst specializes in routing of linear projects for purposes of feasibility studies. This includes but is not limited to routing of pipelines and transmission lines. In addition, assist in project siting studies for other energy/renewable clients.
As GIS Routing Analyst, you will utilize GIS tools including the Pivvot application to route linear projects:

• Adjust PLAE parameters based on project location and type of line requirements including but not limited to: Size of pipe, kV, known geographic, environmental, construction, landowner constraints.
• Conduct quality assurance on route after running in Pivvot to create the best possible route available.
• Utilize prior routing knowledge to build PLAE and create the optimum route.
• Coordinate with different business units to ensure route is viable (Engineering, Land, Environmental)
• Develop and expand knowledge of routing limitations in specific areas of the country.
• Create decision matrix for route selection.
• Understanding of coordinate systems and the proper projection to store your data.
• Create data deliverables (kmz’s, shapefiles, geodatabase, spreadsheets, reports, static PDF maps, mapbooks, preliminary exhibits etc.)
• Convert/transform Lat/Long Data, XY data into spatial vector points.
• Work efficiently under pressure with constant deadlines.
• Work effectively on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Analog to digital conversion (Hardcopy or scanned image to vector data).
• Perform standard and advanced spatial analysis as required.
• Work with minimum supervision and assist other technicians as needed.
• Interface directly with field as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
• Create standards for routing
• Train other GIS specialists on routing as necessary.

Job Requirements:

4-year degree, majoring in GIS OR equivalent work experience preferred.

• GISP (Geographic Information Systems Professional) preferred or supplemental experience.
• 5-10 years GIS experience, preferably in Oil & Gas, T&D, Renewables.
• Demonstrated experience with ArcGIS 10.x/Pro
• Demonstrated experience in Routing and Siting Studies for Energy related projects.
• Experience with Pivvot software a plus
• Proficient GIS skillset
• Excellent written/verbal communication skills
• Excellent Analytical/Problem solving skills
• Technology focused
