GIS SPECIALIST
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Duration: Long Term Contract
1. Supports GIS based projects for integration to Enterprise systems (e.g., financial, budget, human resources, and transportation systems) and/or major technology infrastructure systems (e.g., network, telecommunications, business productivity, communications, and security systems).
2. Supports project management efforts, from scoping to work progress to completion and sign off/delivery.
3. Works with key stakeholders to develop and prepare key integral project management documents, including business cases, project charters, budgets, project requirements, scopes of work, procurement documents, project plans and schedules, tests, and training plans.
4. Supports liaison work between group departments, external vendors/providers of IT, and Metro executives.
5. Designs, develops, tests, and maintains GIS platform applications that are used by employees and customers; analyzes, troubleshoots, and/or redesigns existing applications; and recommends new technologies to improve efficiency and ensure quality.
6. Interfaces with clients to provide assistance in identifying, diagnosing, and problem solving.
7. Advises user departments and other Information Technology Services support teams on system requirements, enhancements, and new technologies.
8. Configures, implements, and integrates commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software.
9. Ensures that clients have the necessary training and documents to properly utilize.
