This remote position is based in states in the Central or Eastern Time zones (Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, NewHampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin). Candidates in Mountain or Pacific time zones will not be considered for this position.

Reporting to the Head of Implementation, the GIS Implementation Specialist will maintain GIS datasets and publish ESRI services for use in RapidDeploy products. This includes engaging with customers to determine data requirements, collect GIS data, and assist in implementing our products. In this role, you will work closely withDelivery (Project Management and Implementation), Support, and Product team members and work cross-departmentally to drive successful management of GIS datasets and implementation of GIS-related functionality for our customer base.

Education / Certifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in GIS, Geography, Science, Engineering, or a related discipline

Background/Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in the following is required:
• Maintaining GIS datasets using ArcPro
• Processing GIS data using geoprocessing tools
• Publishing ESRI services to ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online
• Knowledge of dataset version control best practices
• Experience working with stakeholder groups to define GIS-related needs and implementation approaches
• Self-motivated, energetic, proactive team player with innovative ideas, diplomacy, and tact
• Poise under pressure, thrives in a multi-tasking environment, and can adjust priorities on-the-fly
• Willingness to take on new tasks and responsibilities as needed

Essential Job Functions:

• Using ArcPro to maintain authoritative customer data
• Processing customer source data using geoprocessing tools
• Working with GIS datasets that adhere to topology rules
• Owning the GIS dataset maintenance lifecycle end-to-end
• Following version control best practices
• Identifying process improvements to streamline operations and maintenance
• Publishing ESRI services (geocode, feature, map, image, etc.) to ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online
• Engage customers to determine data requirements, propose solutions, and assist with the implementation of RapidDeploy products

Over time, we anticipate the responsibilities of this role to grow and evolve under the mentorship of Senior GIS staff. In the longer term, we would work to expand the skillset to include more complex GIS tasks including, but not limited to, the following activities:

Troubleshooting GIS Systems problems with data processing, delivery, service generation, and other data lifecycle issues in GIS Systems

• Resolve customer service issues related to GIS technology
• Creation of custom GIS scripts, tools, and applications for various data processing requirements (using Arcpy, Model Builder)

• Experience with the ESRI suite of software, including:
• ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online
• Knowledge of the following languages and technologies a plus: Python, SQL, REST, JSON
