Under general direction, and reporting directly to the Assistant Director of Graduate Recruitment, the recruiter represents Arizona State University’s Thunderbird School of Global Management in activities which broaden the base of prospective students for the school’s degree programs, with a primary focus on the Master of Global Management (MGM) in Phoenix, Arizona. The recruiter will also qualify prospective students according to given program criteria, help them through the entire application process and maintain communication with admitted students to retain interest in the programs until their cohort launches while working collaboratively with the Student Success team and other departments. The recruiter will be able to connect quickly with students and with internal and external partners in a poised, informative and enthusiastic manner and will be capable of stimulating and motivating others while being responsive and aware of their needs and concerns. This position will entail working at a fast pace
with frequent interruptions and will require working both independently and collaboratively at times in order to complete tasks.

Essential Duties
- Works to generate student leads, via various lead generation activities: hosting information sessions, scheduling and conducting face-to-face or virtual appointments, phone calls, and online communication channels to provide program benefits and admissions requirements.
- Maintains effective communication with prospective students regarding degree programs.
- Manages prospective students by maintaining extensive contacts, monitoring application progress from start to completion, identifying and resolving problems.
- Guides and assists international students through student visa and immigration processes.
- Leverages Salesforce to track and monitor applicant activity and application status.
- Qualifies prospective students and retains the overall interest of admitted students between admit and the launch date of the program.
- Assists the Recruitment and Admissions leadership team in identifying market trends that could potentially affect recruiting strategies.
- Represents the program through various presentations and attends activities such as graduate fairs and community meetings both locally and globally.
- Coordinates and may assist in creating internal and external communications to new student leads, prospective students, and admitted students via letters, articles, newsletter support, phone and email, and interactions.
- Plans and coordinates on and off-campus recruitment programs for prospective students.
- Disseminates informational material to prospective students (i.e., admission and financial aid applications).
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years related experience, one (1) of which includes professional sales and/or direct marketing-related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved. Travel commitments may include domestics and international requirements involving extended and/or protracted periods of time.
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of marketing/selling techniques; preferably in a higher education setting and with graduate programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current issues and trends in graduate management education. Experience with graduate and doctorate student recruitment and admission practices.
- Knowledge of federal regulations pertaining to international students.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices related to academic advising, recruitment/retention, and/or other student support functions.
- Ability to work/communicate in a team setting with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience in developing and conducting group presentations targeted to diverse audiences.
- Experience in developing and maintaining productive working relationships.
- Experience in strategic planning and decision-making principles and procedures.
- Experience in using organizational and time management skills.
- Evidence of a second language (bilingual)
Working Environment
- Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse.
- Required to stand for varying lengths of time, and walk moderate distances to perform work.
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
- Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
- Clearly communicate to perform essential functions of the job.
- Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to: computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone, and associated computer/technology peripherals.
- This position receives annual managerial review of objectives.
