Position Summary

Assists the Neighborhood Services Manager in promoting, administering, and managing the City’s HUD funded programs. This position will also assist with implementing the Consolidated Plan, Assessment of Fair Housing Plan, and Housing Strategy Plan. This position is responsible for meeting all HUD reporting requirements.
Work Hours: Mon-Thurs 7:30AM-5:30PM Fri 7:30AM-11:30AM

*Note: This position is a hybrid based role, with 2 days a week from home and 3 days in office*

Essential Functions

  • Verifies compliance with all grant requirements including necessary reports and utilizes systems
  • Monitors funded projects to ensure federal requirements are being met
  • Provides support and oversight to other departments using HUD funding
  • Responds to resident complaints and concerns
  • Serves as primary staff liaison to the CDBG Advisory Committee
  • Participate in annual budget process with all necessary departments
  • Monitors and stays current on upcoming changes in federal programs requirements
  • Manages annual planning and project-selection process including citizen participation requirements of the HUD funded programs
  • Implements programs and initiatives to meet goals of the Consolidated Plan, Assessment of Fair Housing Plan, and Housing Strategy Plan
  • Creates and submits all necessary HUD reports in a timely manner in accordance with federal regulations
  • Serves as a liaison to local nonprofit, social service, and community organizations
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Education
** Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience
** 3 years of administrative and/or management experience required including one year of grant administration experience.
Any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job is an acceptable substitute for the above specified education and experience requirements.

  • Knowledge of grant/program management, procedures, and funding options.

Skills

  • Skill in use of personal computer including Microsoft Office, Google Suites or similar word processing programs.

Special Requirements

  • Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must possess a valid State of Texas Driver’s License Class “C” and good driving record as defined by City policy.

Pay: $61,615.00 - $86,624.00 per year
