Job Description:

The Guest Services Host II position is highly interactive with our guests in a dynamic and fun working environment. Located throughout the Museum, our Host II teammates sell tickets and memberships, while also helping to plan guests’ days in the museum. You’ll work with our team in our Giant Screen theater, Planetarium theater, in the Museum Lobby, and at our Virtual Reality Rides assisting guests and setting the tone for a great Museum experience. You’ll even get to see a movie or Planetarium show in the process. How can you beat that?

Essential duties:
- Uses ticketing system for point of sale transactions, membership enrollment/renewal, and basic sales orders
- Communicates the difference in membership levels and benefits to guests
- Ability to facilitate a cash and/or debit and credit card payment with accuracy for guest transactions
- Ushers guests into the Giant Screen Theater. Checks tickets, distributes and collects glasses, provides customer service as needed in the theater.
- Ushers guests into the Planetarium Theater. Checks tickets, runs show controls and provides service in the theater.
- Works in the Virtual Reality Arcade where guests can buy tickets to ride our Virtual Reality Transporter, or play exciting Virtual Reality games
- Provides a welcoming, safe and fun environment for our guests through outstanding service and guest assistance.
Minimum qualifications/Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 years’ experience in a fast paced service environment.
- Ability to work weekends and evenings as needed.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- The Museum loves science. As a science institution, the Museum believes in the science behind vaccines. As a condition of employment, employees must present proof that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 on their first day of employment or receive an exemption or other reasonable accommodation due to circumstances protected under federal or state law that prevent the employee from being vaccinated. Ideal candidate will have/be:
- Cash Handling experience
- Bilingual (Spanish/English: A pay differential will be added for those who have bilingual skills)
- Available to work 3-4 days a week
- Continual operation of a desktop computer, mobile computer, scanner or other technical equipment
