Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience leading and supporting products/technologies/systems work, working directly with government institutions.
  • 10 years of experience in program or project management, managing system integrations in a software engineering domain.
  • Eligible for US Government Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information Security Clearance.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Program Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with the US public sector or federal cloud market, large-scale data availability and resilience, gaining regulatory compliance for a product or platform, working in the regulatory compliance field, and/or procurement/management of government contracts.
  • Ability to succeed in ambiguity and support others in the same.
  • Ability to think strategically and take initiative, with excellent problem-solving, facilitation, and organization skills.
  • Excellent technical, cross-functional collaboration, and leadership skills.
  • Exceptional teamwork, influencing, and communication skills.

About the job

As the Head of Program Management for Contracts and Business Operations at Google Public Sector you will design, lead, and implement business critical programs to enable business readiness and scale in our rapidly expanding public sector business. You will build and lead a team of talented Program Managers who will be subject matter experts in the implementation of public sector focused end-to-end systems and processes to support all GPS operations (e.g., Contracts, Go To Market, Professional Services, and Delivery).

In this role, you will operationalize cross-functional teams, manage stakeholders and business requirements, plan and represent multiple strategic launches, mitigate complex dependencies, and establish an effective governance structure and reporting model.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $203,000-$299,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Partner with executives and leaders cross-functionally within GPS and across Google to define and refine strategic goals, priorities, and roadmaps for GPS systems.
  • Work in concert with multiple product teams and GPS stakeholders to define and prioritize requirements, plans, timelines, and manage execution of the integrated program plan for GPS systems needs.
  • Anticipate, manage, and mitigate strategic and tactical risks and issues across the program.
  • Define, launch, and sustain a regular reporting cadence across multiple stakeholders and organizations.
  • Use technical judgment to drive project delivery, test proposals, and build consensus.
