Come join our Venice Family Clinic and make a positive difference in others’ lives. The Health Educator is responsible for the assessment, planning, coordination and implementation of health education programs that focus on underserved racial/ethnic groups who are at high risk for illness, disability and death from chronic diseases. In this role you will also act as a liaison between community organizations and the clinic, as well as refer patients to other services and community agencies when needed.

Salary range: $24.28-$48.04 Hourly
Required:
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, Nutrition or related field OR a Bachelor’s degree in Health or a related field and at two years of experience providing health education services in a public health or primary health care organization.
- Working knowledge of health education issues and programs including nutrition, lifestyle and behavioral issues.
- Working knowledge of chronic diseases and strategies to improve patient adherence to medical treatment plans.
- Bilingual language skills in English and Spanish.
- Ability to conduct outreach and recruitment for health education classes on nutrition and lifestyle changes.
- Excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of people of various educational and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Excellent organizational skills and proficiency in using Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel and Access.
- Ability to travel between clinics and community organizations to conduct health education programs, presentation, services and outreach.
