We are looking for an experienced, dependable, mature, self-motivated, highly driven, professional front desk manager to grow with us, be the "face" of our company and ensure guests receive a heartwarming welcome. As a front desk manager, you should combine a pleasant personality with a dynamic professional attitude. Pay is $15-$16/hr. depending on your hotel front desk experience. YOU MUST BE FLEXIBLE AND BE ABLE TO WORK ANY SHIFT WHEN NEEDED. MUST HAVE AT LEAST ONE YEAR OF EXPERIENCE WITH HIE HOTELS.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all front desk activities, including calls, reservations, and guest services
  • Manage front desk employee schedule & make sure all shifts are covered at all times
  • Oversee quality control
  • Troubleshoot problems with any front desk or guest room related issues
  • Ensure the front desk team runs smoothly & efficiently
  • Ensure our front desk staff provides professional and friendly service to our guests
  • Ensure there is accurate communication between all departments
  • Troubleshoot guest complaints with a solid, positive, courteous, timely and accurate customer service approach
  • Ensure front desk is tidy and has all necessary stationery and material (e.g. pens, forms, and informative leaflets)
  • Troubleshoot emergencies
  • Monitor stock and help order supplies
  • Ensure proper mail distribution
  • Keep updated records
  • Ensure the company’s policies and security requirements are met
  • Assist the GM in daily operations and administrative work. Be the eyes and ears to the GM and relate any concerns

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Hotel Front Desk Agent or manager (At least 1 year experience)
  • Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations and maintain composure
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by guests and co-workers.
  • Must be able to work and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic.
  • Inside Sales is a plus
  • Experience with OPERA hotel reservations software
  • Understanding of how travel planning websites operate, like Priceline, Booking, and TripAdvisor
  • Friendly/Professional customer service attitude
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
  • Hands-on experience with office machines (e.g. fax machines and printers)
  • Thorough knowledge of customer service, office management, and basic bookkeeping procedures
  • Proficiency in English (oral and written)
  • Solid knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Comply at all times with hotel standards and regulations to encourage a safe and effective hotel.
