Housing Privatization Specialist-Colorado Springs, CO Job at Cherokee Federal
SUMMARY
The Housing Privatization Specialist will ensure project owner’s (PO) compliance with transaction documents. This position will also provide financial management oversight and analysis regarding the fiscal health of the project. The position assists in the technical programming and administrative support of the USAFA housing program. The employee will act as liaison between property management, tenants, PO and all applicable agencies in support of the project. The employee will foster effective communication between housing occupants, installation and higher headquarters government staff, and other key stakeholders for both General Officer and privatized housing. The employee will maintain, coordinate, and track project information, key communications, and decisions made by the government.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following:
- Provide technical programming and administrative support for the USAFA housing program, including all required reports, data management, briefing, correspondence, and tracking.
- Provide detailed updates to leadership and stakeholders by participating in meetings/forums and coordinating, consolidating, developing and delivering or presenting associated meeting materials (e.g. slides, after action reports, minutes).
- Liaison between government, housing residents and privatized housing owner on proposed projects, repairs, improvements, events and activities planned in the housing community.
- Review and comment on planned facility work.
- Maintain eMH database.
- Build and maintain SharePoint site for all general officer and privatized housing communications and decisions.
- Produce required reports and updates as specified by the government.
SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY
Non-supervisory. Reports to CNFC Program Manager
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree
- Professional housing certification is desirable.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience related to Government or private sector housing.
- Experience with Air Force DoD privatized housing and General Officer housing.
- Ability to read, interpret, and analyze technical designs and drawings is required.
- Experience with design and construction of high-interest, high-visibility Air Force projects is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills in the oral, visual, and written mediums.
- Ability to successfully pass drug screening and a federal background check is required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively via oral and written mediums.
- Technical ability to analyze facility requirements and recommend/develop strategy and guidance for resource advocacy to support Privatized Housing, GOQs, Housing Referral and Relocation Support Services, and enterprise military housing (eMH).
- Must be adept at cultivating contacts with local stakeholders and government officials.
- Knowledge and experience with Military Family Housing (MFH), including General Officer Quarters (GOQ).
- Knowledge and experience of Military Housing Privatization Initiative (MHPI).
- Must exercise good organizational and time management skills and the capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of leasing fundamentals, property management and the local housing planning.
- Proficient in utilizing Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must pass a drug screen and background investigation.
- Cherokee Federal has suspended it’s COVID mandate. However, it’s important to note that Cherokee Federal employees are included as covered employees in U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, which mandates Covid vaccines for federal contractors. Executive Order 14042 is currently not subject to enforcement by the Federal government. Therefore, Cherokee Federal has suspended application of the mandate and continues to monitor the government’s guidance on administration of any vaccine requirement.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work area is usually adequately lit, heated and ventilated. There may be occasional exposure to dusty or dirty conditions while conducting onsite visits to local housing projects. Use of POV may be required.
Estimated Starting Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 annually
