HR Assistant (PT 25 hours per week)

Job purpose
Provide assistance to the HR department in a variety of administrative functions.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Relieve Human Resources department of clerical work: open and route incoming mail, manage paper and electronic files, take minutes or notes of meetings, compose and route routine correspondence.
  • Assist Human Resources department in materials preparation and production for meetings, workshops, trainings, recruitment fairs, etc.
  • Take applicant phone calls: field, forward or tend; also make phone calls as requested or needed.
  • Manage Human Resources Recruiter’s interviewing calendar and scheduling details; act as needed to keep important issues at the forefront in face of many competing demands for attention.
  • Prepares notes, correspondence (emails, letters, memos) and reports related to the hiring and recruiting process. This includes but is not limited to job postings in centers and the PEP web site.
  • Manage projects on request.
  • Generate employee badges as needed.
  • Will act as backup to the front desk receptionist as needed.
  • Other such duties as assigned by the Human Resources Director/CHRO.


Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. 1 year HR experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others.
  • Effective organizational skills and attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to make appropriate decisions and use sound judgment.
  • Display professionalism and team-oriented attitudes.
  • Complete assigned duties competently and within expected time frames
  • Must possess a high level of organizational skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and be self- motivated.


Physical requirements
  • Ability to balance, bend, climb, crouch, kneel, reach, push, stoop, stand and sit.
  • Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate and ride in a vehicle.
  • Ability to use a computer and keyboard (hand-eye coordination and repetitive movements
related to keyboarding).
