Position Summary

The HR Coordinator provides administrative support to the HR department and assists with all team member processing. Responsible for maintaining and updating the team member personnel files to ensure state, federal, and gaming compliance.

Essential Functions

  • Professionally, greets and acknowledges all guests upon entering the HR office
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills, good writing ability, be organized, and know how to handle confidential materials
  • Must be flexible, detail oriented, able to prioritize, and able to multi-task effectively
  • Order team member badges/name tags and route to the appropriate departments upon receipt
  • Answers job verification inquiries from other companies via fax, email or mail
  • Check emails and stay up to date with any manager or team member inquiries
  • Answer the office phone and stay up to date with any manager or team member inquiries

Engagement

  • Runs monthly anniversary reports to distribute to all team members
  • Assists with HR Team with the coordination of team member engagement, charity events, wellness, job/career fairs, orientation and safety training programs

HR/Gaming Compliance

  • Manages the I-9 process by verifying and completing I-9 for new hires and ensures all I-9 records are received
  • Assists with the management of the Gaming and HR Compliance audits and recommends corrective action/process improvements
  • Updates Paychex and process paperwork for new hires, terminations and other status changes
  • Monitors and manages the expiration of required work cards of all team members
  • Manages work card expiration by running a report of team members with cards about to expire within a month and notifies these team members and management to ensure that work cards are renewed before the expiration date
  • Stays updated on employment law issues

Talent Acquisition

  • Manages the status changes for all open positions, applicants, transfers, new hires, rehires, and terminations
  • Receives and processes PAF’s for approval and signature for all new hires, promotions, transfers, salary changes, and terminations
  • Processes all new team members by setting up personnel files, entering data into Paychex, assigning team member numbers, and distributing team member employee badges
  • Close filled positions on all recruitment websites
  • Assists HR department with various research projects and/or special projects
  • Other duties that may be required or assigned by management

Team and Guest Service

  • Performs customer service functions by answering team member requests and questions
  • Provides excellent service to all team members
  • Performs customer service functions by answering team member requests and questions
  • Deals effectively with team members’ problems/complaints and escalates to VP of HR for resolution as needed
  • Provides excellent service to other team members and departments as needed
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned or necessary

Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member regularly works in an office setting.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The team member is frequently required to stand, talk and hear.

Education and Experience

  • Associate degree in Human Resources or related field, but experience and/or other training/certification may be substituted for the education.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in Human Resources/Human Services
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Demonstrated experience HRIS systems
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming registration
