JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for performing all Human Resources department functions for Royal Vista San Gabriel and Royal Vista Care Center such as: Partnering with employees and management to communicate various HR policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations; conducting confidential/sensitive investigations; preparing/maintaining employee handbook; managing benefits, processing terminations and conducting exit interviews; time card management and biweekly payroll processed in a timely and efficient manner, analyzing data and making recommendations to Administrator for corrective action and continuous improvement; responding to employee relation issues and partnering with Administrator and Management to determine an effective action plan; responding to EDD claims including disability claims, unemployment claims, employee benefits and HR audits; management of all wage garnishments, leaves of absences including PDL, FMLA, CFRA, Covid -19, Medical and Personal Leaves, and all Work Compensation claims. Maintains personnel record filing system that meets the needs of the facility and complies with current employment practices. Maintaining accurate reporting in ADP database; recruiting candidates and processing new hires, promotions, status changes using established procedures. Conduct employee background and reference checks in accordance with our facility’s established procedures. Ensure that appropriate documentation concerning the employee’s right to work in this country is verified in accordance with current laws, regulations, and guidelines concerning such matters, and that appropriate documentation of such review is filed in the employee’s personnel record within the specified time frame. Ensure that the facility is in compliance with current applicable federal and state employment regulations regarding wages, overtime, work hours, workman’s/unemployment compensation, etc. Notifies DSD, Administrator and Payroll coordinator of new hires /discharged employees as applicable. Provide public information (i.e., verification of employment, wages, etc.), in accordance with current laws, regulations, and guidelines governing such matters. Keep department directors informed of changes in personnel matters. Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Executive Director concerning personnel needs, problem areas, etc., as deemed necessary or appropriate
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING , PROFESSIONALISM
2-3 years previous experience in Human Resources in an Skilled Nursing and Assisted living facility. • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a degree in Business Administration, Personnel Management or Industrial Relations. • Knowledgeable of Word, Excel, ADP • 1-2 years supervisory experience preferred. • Payroll/ Benefits/LOA/Work Compensation experience required. • Displays professionalism and integrity,• maintain confidentiality of all pertinent employee information in accordance with the Privacy Act, as well as facility’s established policies governing the release of information.•Must practice dependable, regular attendance. •Must demonstrate the ability to communicate well with family, residents, staff, and management. •Must maintain a professional attitude and establish constructive working relationships with co-workers, residents, families, visitors, and general public. •Must promote teamwork in providing services to residents. •Ensures that resident’s rights are protected and well-respected . •Understands role as a mandated reporter of suspected dependent adult/elder abuse and to report such incidences using Form SOC 341, as provided in employee packet. •Must have excellent organizational skills. •Must posses a valid First Aid Training Certificate indicating successful completion of first aid training. •Must receive a criminal record clearance from the US Department of Justice and the FBI.
HEALTH REQUIREMENTS
- Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
- Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility.
- Must undergo a health screening, including a chest x-ray or an intradermal examination, to test for tuberculosis, performed by a physician not more than six (6) months prior to or seven (7) days after employment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $83,000.00 per year
