About the Company
Ocean Peace Inc. owns and operates four factory trawlers and two catcher vessels fishing in the Bering Sea and Gulf of Alaska. We are the largest Amendment 80 fishing company operating in the United States.
About the Role
As a recruiter, your number one priority will be to provide full cycle recruiting for the at-sea employment of qualified crew members. You will be recruiting new employees as well as managing returning employees through multiple contracts for one of our factory trawlers. You will be supporting the operations team both onboard the vessel and in the office. Our Recruiting Team acts at the main point of contact for candidates throughout their Ocean Peace journey.
We’re looking for an experienced Recruiter who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced, working environment and is interested in playing a key role for a growing company in a stable industry.

This role involves occasional work on weekends and evenings depending on vessel schedules on occasion.

Job Duties
Screen applicants, conduct one-on-one interviews and verify employment reference checks and background checks in accordance with Ocean Peace standards and requirements.
Schedule crew members for upcoming rotations and administer new contracts
Maintain employment records including crew lists, personnel files etc. for all crew members
Maintain all pertinent applicant and interview data
Schedule various trainings for crew members
Maintain HR metrics- retention rate, recruiting analysis, current crew analysis
Requirements
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly with a wide range of audiences
Ability to communicate clearly using multiple platforms, adapt communications to accommodate accessibility and language needs of applicants
Strong time-management and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize and multitask on multiple projects within a day
Must be a self-starter, able to set priorities, accountable for results and demonstrating follow through on commitments
Must be able and willing to adhere consistently to the hiring and screening protocols established by the organization
Experience
MUST HAVE PREVIOUS RECRUITING
Successful background in personnel-related or administrative work
Experience in Customer service or other work dealing with the public
Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) for use on a daily basis, proficient understanding of the internet
Plus: Familiarity with Zoom, Facetime, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and iPhone
Recruiters with industrial experience are encouraged to apply
Maritime or seafood experience preferred
Spanish Speaking Preferred
