Tetra Tech is currently seeking a Human Resources Manager for our TRD operating unit headquarters in Maitland, FL.
The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for the leadership of the human resources function for one operating unit with approximately $200M in revenue and over 400 employees. Key responsibilities include management and oversight of employee relations and coordinating with corporate human resources to implement and manage company-wide programs and policies. The selected candidate will have significant experience managing staff and human resources operations. This position requires strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Partners with operations to identify, prioritize and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes.
- Implements Human Resources policies, programs and procedures in an effective, cost-efficient manner that reflects the business needs of the operations.
- Provides expert advice and coaching to leaders and employees.
- Guides managers through employee relations and performance management processes
- Proactively assesses employee engagement, development and morale and implements programs or solutions.
- Acts as trusted partner to operations by promoting talent management strategies and providing professional guidance and support.
- Oversees benefits administration to include enrollment, assistance with claims resolution, mid-year changes, Leaves of Absence, and general communication of relevant benefits information to employees.
- Manages the units’ performance evaluation and compensation programs.
- Provides actionable data to the various operating units and departments.
- Oversee employee onboarding process to ensure successful introduction to organization.
- Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
- Manages Drug and Alcohol Screening program.
Requirements & Preferred Experience:
- 8 years’ experience in human resource management required, including supervisory experience.
- Experience in an office based decentralized dynamic operation.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, organizational development or a related field is required, advanced degree is preferred.
- Proven track record in the areas of recruitment, human resources, change and relationship management.
- A team player with the ability and willingness to pitch in as needed in areas outside core responsibilities and expertise
- Professional registration, i.e., SPHR or PHR is preferred.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Comprehensive knowledge of human resources practices and procedures
- Comprehensive knowledge of the relevant laws and regulations pertaining to the human resources function
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Clearly communicates rationale in support of key strategic decisions.
- Ability to take initiative, work well under pressure, and work independently.
- Ability to successfully lead teams and interact with all levels in the organization.
- Demonstrates good judgement and makes difficult decisions, using appropriate level of consultation.
- Demonstrates confidence and credibility.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Effective administrative and organizational skills
- Proficiency in the use of HRIS systems for managing employee data and reporting.
