The mission of the Human Resources Department is to be a collaborative and credible partner with all Departments in mitigating the City's liability and developing a highly efficient and productive workforce in accordance with legal guidelines and best practices. The Risk Management Division oversees workers' compensation, insurance administration, and liability claims management in order to mitigate risk exposure, partners with the City Attorney's office in coordinating Citywide litigation, oversees safety and injury/illness prevention, benefits and leave administration, and employment-related ADA/interactive processes. The Division aims to develop comprehensive, effective and cost-efficient measures to reduce the City's liability and financial loss, control risk exposures, manage claims, and promote a safe and well-protected City and workforce.

What We're Looking For
The City of Beverly Hills Human Resources Department is seeking energetic, team-oriented professionals to provide administrative support to the Risk Management Division and the Human Resources Division.

The HR Associate in Human Resources will assist with various human resources functions such as recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, and labor/employee relations. The position will regularly assist with recruitments by screening applications, scheduling exams/interviews, and corresponding with candidates. Additionally, the incumbent will plan, coordinate, and carry out administrative tasks which include serving as a point of contact for routine/day-to-day employee questions, processing/approving HR-related transactions in various HRIS platforms, and collaborating with departments/divisions to provide information and feedback on policies, procedures and regulations.

The HR Associate in Risk Management will assist with the intake, set-up, and tracking of property, casualty and/or workers claims, processing of employee benefits changes, maintaining department records, and responding to inquiries/requests from the public. Prior experience in claims set up/tracking and records management is helpful. Experience with software such as Microsoft Outlook and Excel is required.

The ideal candidates for these positions will thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers; possess strong time management and critical thinking skills; and have the ability to follow & manage established workflows & processes. The incumbent of this position will be required to exercise sound judgment and discretion to perform moderately complex and confidential duties in support of the Human Resources team.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of college level course work with emphasis on business principles and practices and two years of experience equivalent to HR Associate I.
