HR Associate III: $57,685 - $67,059 - Grade C42(1)
Job Description
This position will support their assigned departments with various HR functions including employee relations, classification/compensation, employment/recruitment, and training.
Essential Duties
- Administering full-cycle recruitment and onboarding processes
- Receiving and investigating formal complaints; writing reports; and issuing findings of fact, determination, and recommendations
- Conducting interactive reasonable accommodation discussions
- Administering FMLA requests and approvals
- Providing coaching and feedback regarding policies, procedures, and performance management
- Administering public safety promotional testing process
- Preparing for and representing the organization during unemployment hearings
- Administering quarterly random CDL & Safety Sensitive drug and alcohol testing
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, codes, and standards
- Leading and facilitating management training
- Speaking during internal and external meetings
Minimum Qualifications
Human Resources Specialist
- Associate degree
- Four years of progressively responsible experience in employee relations, classification/compensation, employment/recruitment, and training
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above and linked below will also be considered.
- Valid driver's license
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, finance, business administration, public administration, or psychology
- One year of HR Generalist experience or three years of progressively responsible experience in employee relations, classification/compensation, or employment/recruitment
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above and linked below will also be considered.
- Valid driver's license

- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification

The County Administrator and County Attorney are appointed by the Board of Commissioners and serve at its pleasure. To implement the Board's policy directives, the County Administrator uses a management team consisting of members of his immediate staff and 14 department directors. The 14 departments that make up the executive side are Police Services, Fire and Emergency Services, Corrections, Communications, Support Services, Financial Services, Community Services, Human Resources, Information Technology Services, Law, Planning and Development, Water Resources, Child Advocacy & Juvenile Services, and Transportation. Each department is run by a director who is charged with managing operations in a manner which stresses the County’s values.
In addition to the executive side of County government, certain services are provided through Constitutional officers and independent elected officials. These external offices are created by the Georgia Constitution or through state law. In Gwinnett, they include the Sheriff, Tax Commissioner, District Attorney, Solicitor, Probate Court Judge, and Chief Magistrate.
