SUMMARY
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is jointly accountable with departmental/functional/regional leaders for all people-related issues at Longview, Washington's manufacturing location, and is tasked with Human Resources generalist responsibilities at the site. This position will be responsible for providing consultation, interpretation, and administration of Human Resource policies for employees and leaders and a day-to-day basis. Strong emphasis will be placed on ensuring all management team members are trained on all facets of Human Resources management/processes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
Provide counseling, support, and advice to management and employees in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues (progressive discipline, conflict resolution, investigations and terminations). Reviews related documentation policies and/or procedures and presents recommendations for action and resolution.
Coach and consult with local management in leveraging performance through people by directing the application and maintenance of the company's performance management system.
Serve as a member of the Regional HR Team to share information, coordinate and ensure consistency when possible and applicable.
Drive candidate evaluation and selection; personally participate in candidate evaluation (as part of an interview team); work with appropriate Corporate HR to formulate salary offers and ensure proper onboarding/orientation.
Manage and maintain HRIS for Longview, Washington. Train employees and managers as required.
Act as a single point of contact for leaders to access services provided by other Human Resources functions (i.e. training, compensation, etc.). Work with Corporation HR to ensure effective, coordinated delivery of HR services.
Participates in labor relations activities, manages grievances, serve on Labor and Grievance committees.
Run bi-weekly payroll.
Conducts human resources related training.
Oversee the administration of compensation, benefits, vacation, sick leave, absence programs for union and non-union employees.
Participates in compensation surveys, job evaluations, promotions or adjustments in conjunction with Total Rewards.
Any additional duties and tasks as required.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations, Labor Relations, Human Resources, Business Administration or related field. SHRM or HRCI certified professional preferred.
A minimum of five years of Human Resources experience in a generalist/functional role with exposure to compensation, performance management, training, labor relations.
Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
Excellent communication and organizational skills; detail oriented.
Proficient in MS Office Suite and experience in an HRIS is preferred; ability to learn new databases and applications is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 5 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Significant digital dexterity, e.g. using computer keyboard is required. Use of oral communication to perform work is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
