JOB DESCRIPTION

The HR Director will be responsible for overseeing all human resource functions across the dealership's 12 locations in 6 states. This includes managing benefits enrollment, quarterly and annual reporting, onboarding and offboarding processes, performance management, and employee relations. The HR Director will be responsible for ensuring that all HR functions are managed effectively and in compliance with federal and state laws and regulations. They will need to have excellent communication skills and be able to work with employees and managers at all levels of the organization. Additionally, regular travel will be necessary to ensure that HR functions are being carried out effectively across all dealership locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Talent acquisition and management: You will oversee the recruitment process to ensure that the company attracts and retains top talent across multiple states. You will also manage employee performance, career development, and succession planning to ensure the organization's talent pipeline is robust.
  • Benefits and compensation: You will manage the company's employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks. You will also ensure that the company's compensation strategy is competitive and aligned with industry standards.
  • Employee relations: You will oversee employee relations, including conflict resolution, complaint handling, and disciplinary actions. You will also ensure that the company fosters a positive work environment that encourages open communication, collaboration, and teamwork.
  • Compliance and risk management: You will ensure that the company complies with all federal and state employment laws and regulations, including those related to safety, diversity, and equal employment opportunity. You will also manage risk by identifying and addressing potential HR-related liabilities.
  • HR policy development and compliance: You will develop and implement HR policies and procedures that align with the company's overall strategy, culture, and values. You will also ensure that the company complies with relevant labor laws and regulations in each state where it operates.
  • Training and development: You will oversee the company's training and development programs, ensuring that employees have access to the resources they need to grow professionally and advance their careers.
  • Additional responsibilities as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in HR management role, preferably in the automotive or commercial trucking industry
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state HR laws and regulations
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to inform decision-making.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and other HR-related software.
  • Professional certifications such as PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-SCP are highly desirable.
  • Regular travel to dealership locations required
