Join our Global Technology team within Flow Equipment division in United States as Hydraulic Design Engineer to help us take our business to the next level.


In this role you will be accountable for:

  • Provides hydraulic design support to Product Development, Operations, and FlowServices as required:
  • Performs pump component (impeller, volute, inlet casing, etc) hydraulic design and optimization using empirical modeling in conjunction with CFD validation.
  • Produces design documents including 2D and 3D models, design calculations and performance maps.
  • Uses ERP and PLM systems to communicate design requirements to downstream functions and archive designs, respectively.
  • Follows and supports all new designs through the manufacturing cycle including validation testing.
  • Supports Global Sales and Tendering teams in the optimal (safety, reliability, performance) selection of SPUSA ECC Engineered pump products via the AEAR system.
  • Produces Engineered pump performance curves plus documents scope of new Engineered content associated with pump selection facilitate cost and lead time estimation by others.
  • Reviews and provides comments to customer RFQ’s and technical specifications as pertaining to pump design, application and selection.
  • Supports Sales and Tendering during customer meetings as required.
  • Provides post order engineering support to ensure seamless transfer of new Engineered scope to project management and manufacturing functions.
  • Produces hydraulic and pattern summary document(s) which serve as starting point for new pump order processing.
  • Continuously support the maintenance of pump hydraulics and test databases.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent training and experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in design and/or application of centrifugal pumping equipment.
  • Proficient math and NX 3D Modeling skills.
  • Experience with Ansys CFX (CFD Analysis), preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
