Mayvin is currently seeking an experienced Information Systems Technician (IT) Instructor to join our team at the United States Coast Guard's Petaluma Training Center. As an IT Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality classroom instruction to Coast Guard personnel in the field of Information Systems Technology.
Hourly Rate $26.99 plus H/W $4.41
Must be a US Citizen to be considered for this position
Must be able to pass a background investigation (BI)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive classroom instruction on various topics related to Information Systems Technology.
- Develop and update training materials, lesson plans, and assessments in accordance with Coast Guard curriculum guidelines.
- Provide hands-on training to Coast Guard personnel on data networks software and hardware, client/server environments, Microsoft products, COMPTIA A+ and Network+, disaster recovery, helpdesk management, and troubleshooting.
- Instruct students on the use of test equipment in the maintenance and repair of computer-related equipment.
- Teach system administration/network maintenance procedures and best practices specific to the United States Coast Guard.
- Assess student performance, provide constructive feedback, and evaluate their progress.
- Mentor and guide students in their professional development as Information Systems Technicians.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and certifications relevant to the IT field and the United States Coast Guard.
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to enhance the quality of the training program.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a primary classroom instructor.
- Certification in either CompTIA A+ or CompTIA Network+.
- In-depth subject matter expertise in data networks software and hardware, client/server environments, Microsoft products, COMPTIA A+ and Network+, disaster recovery, helpdesk management, use of test equipment in the maintenance and repair of computer-related equipment, troubleshooting, system administration/network maintenance procedures, and electrical safety.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
- Familiarity with United States Coast Guard policies, procedures, and systems (preferred).
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related field (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified (before starting).
