Information Technology Inventory Technician (B) Job at Fairfax County Public Schools
Performs a variety of support duties for the Department of Information Technology (IT). Controls inventory for IT operations by preparing, processing, maintaining, and distributing stocked items, as well as maintaining a back-order database; handles oral, written, and electronic requests; performs routine manual work associated with receiving, warehousing, issuing, and/or delivering supplies, moving and transporting equipment.
Qualifications
Required
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) certificate.
- Two (2) years of progressive experience in warehousing and inventory using the latest in available software.
- Possession of an appropriate, valid motor vehicle operator's license with a good driving record.
- Skill in oral and written communications.
- Ability to use a computer, peripherals, software applications, and other office equipment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise tact, good judgment, and initiative.
Preferred
- Understanding of electronic parts used in various life safety systems as well as computer platforms.
