Architextural Building Supplies (ABS), is a family owned and operated distributor of exterior building supplies based in Brooklyn, New York, serving the NYC Metro Area. Founded in 2005, with the help of it's dedicated staff ABS has evolved as a leading distributor of exterior building materials specializing in exterior wall cladding systems for commercial and residential projects.

Candidates should have an outgoing personality, willing to learn, be a multi tasker, good communication skills, and like to work face to face with the general public. In this vital role, the applicant will be responsible for serving contractors at the sales counter, answering phone calls, emails, quoting projects for the outside sales team, and other contractor accounts, processing orders and projects. Must have strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with contractors, homeowners, and other employees. Must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. The applicant will share responsibility for inventory management and purchasing.

Responsibilities:

  • Determining customers’ needs.
  • Recommending appropriate products and solutions.
  • Up-selling additional products and supplies.
  • Develop and maintain a working technical knowledge of products sold.
  • Answering phones, respond to emails, communicate with customers.
  • Enter Quotes, Sales Orders and Accept Payments.
  • Coordinating customer pick ups with the warehouse.
  • Schedule deliveries and coordinate with dispatch.
  • Assist with reordering inventory and special orders.
  • Addressing and resolving service concerns.
  • Maintain Showroom and Tools Display.

Qualifications:

  • Work as part of a team.
  • Follow safety policies and procedures.
  • Must have a can-do, customer service first attitude.
  • Basic math, grammar and computer skills.
  • Excellent Communication Skills.
  • Collaborate with co-workers, customers and vendors.
  • Must be able to problem solve and follow-up.
  • Able to work in fast-paced enviroment.
  • Bilingual a plus.
  • Able to retain a working technical knowledge of materials sold.
  • Prior experience with building materials is a plus.
  • Previous front-line customer service experience.
  • Commitment to the Company's mission and its core values.
  • Experience with ERP, CRM Software and MS Office a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.50 - $27.50 per hour
