JMT is seeking Inspectors for multiple positions open throughout the Lehigh Valley and Wilkes Barre Scranton areas. The successful candidates will apply standard inspection procedures to ongoing activities during and after construction for structural quality, general safety and conformance to plans, specifications and codes.

Essential functions and responsibilities

• Assist client and inspection team with onsite inspection and documentation of construction activities
• Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations.
• Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes.
• Makes field notes and computations
• Gathers and maintains record documents (using PennDOT ECMS and other systems)

Additional Functions and Responsibilities

• Witness routine sampling and tests on concrete, soils and other materials
• Perform other related duties as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent (may be substituted for experience)
• Active driver’s license – reliable transportation

Preferred Experience

• Client requested certifications
• Construction inspection experience

Working Conditions

Work is performed in the field. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
