Seeking a responsible individual to fill the Full-Time position of Institutional Advancement Database Manager.

Onsite until manager feels employee is ready to move to hybrid.

The primary function of this position is under the supervision of the Vice President of Institutional Advancement, the Database Manager will support the success of all members of Institutional Advancement (IA) by combining database management and maintenance, data entry, gift processing, information management, prospect research, data analysis, and technology skills with the ability to train fundraising staff on database usage. This position will also support the Institutional Advancement team with administrative tasks such as mailings, scheduling, and phone calls. This position is an integral part of Salus University's ability to grow revenues from contributions, sponsorships, and partnerships successfully.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

In this position, you will provide database management for RE and RE NXT, including fit and constituent entries, database maintenance, data clean-up, functionality and configuration monitoring, and backup/recovery and updates management. You will also assess and ensure accuracy, security, and integrity of the fundraising donor database, including oversight and implementation of data entry standards and best practices. In addition, you will update weekly fundraising dashboards and donor updates for the Development Team as well as assist fundraisers with prospect management as it related to the iWave software. In this role, you will prepare complex database queries, exports, imports and custom and canned reports to support department needs, including preparing event and gift reports as well as develop and maintain written policies and procedures for processing data management. You will serve as the main point of contact and Blackbaud liaison for all database issues and questions, determine solutions and strategies, and work to case resolution as well as support the Vice President of Institutional Advancement in producing key quarterly fundraising reports for Board and IA Committee meetings. As the Database Manager, you will regularly review, update, and clean up the database, including record duplicates, fundraising category options, NCOA updates, etc., to maximize data entry and reporting efficiency. You will be responsible to manage the creation and use of form acknowledgement letters to ensure that all donors are acknowledged promptly and accurately as well as create appropriate mailing lists for various communications throughout the year both physical mailing lists and email mailing lists. Finally, you will also be responsible for other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Education, and Experience Required

  • 3+ years of experience in fast-paced, high-volume development operations
  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Experience complying and development department protocols and processes (e.g., prospect review)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Demonstrated computer literacy- MS Office including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of individuals within the university
  • Good organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to work irregular and/or extended hours when needed

Other Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • bCRE preferred
  • Experience in Raiser's Edge preferred

Salary Range: $60,000-$65,000 based on experience
