The Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall inventory logistics to support the supply chain of all cannabis goods for Native Sun. This position leads all inventory functions and is responsible for providing strategic input and hands-on management. Key responsibilities include managing all tasks related to receiving, stocking, distributing, and reporting cannabis products. Responsible for inventory on a day-to-day basis as well as the weekly and monthly inventory counts and waste disposal requirements. The inventory manager performs the comprehensive annual inventory in conjunction with the executive management team.

They report all necessary inventory and product information in compliance with state laws and regulations. They control inventory levels, ensure adequate stock of products, source suppliers and manage vendor relationships. This role is also responsible for complying with all documented security procedures to safeguard inventory.

Primary responsibilities

  • Implement inventory tracking.
  • Implement inventory controls to track and account for all dispensary inventory.
  • Implement procedures and notification policies for proper disposal.
  • Maintain a strong attention to detail at all times.
  • Analyzes and monitors inventory adjustments and chain of custody of cannabis within dispensary locations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for seed to sale tracking software METRC
  • .Accurately use Google Sheets and other retail software systems.
  • Maintain records including operating procedures, inventory records, audit records, storage and transfer records.
  • Maintain proper storing, labeling, tracking, and reporting of inventory.
  • Manage storefront delivery process.
  • Ensure products are properly stored, labeled, and recorded in the POS system (Leaf Logix).
  • Ensure waste is properly stored.
  • Coordinate the waste disposal schedule.
  • Ensure Native Sun’s policies and procedures for waste disposal are adhered to.
  • Maintain an organized inventory storage space.
  • Count inventory and communicate inventory status to management.
  • Create and provide daily inventory count audit reports to Dispensary Management.
  • Create and provide weekly inventory audit reports to the leadership team.
  • Partner with Buyer and upper management for Inventory needs and deliveries.
  • Create and provide end of month and end of year inventory audits to the leadership team.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment inside and outside the facility.
  • Execute and enforce compliance with CCC regulations and Native Sun’s policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a can-do attitude at all times with a strong work ethic focused on Native Sun’s mission.
  • Remain current with industry best practices, trends, and technologies.
  • Improve the business processes for all key aspects of operations through analysis and collaboration with internal team members and vendor partners.
  • Interface with Licensing and Compliance Representative as needed to support compliance with all appropriate policies, procedures, safety, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintain records and check accuracy of inventory cycle counts and investigate and resolve any discrepancies, informing management of findings.
  • Computer & equipment operations necessary for running an office/retail center (POS systems; G Suite, Microsoft Office; office equipment such as copiers/telephone systems).
  • Acts as a role model for our Core Value and Mission statement.
  • Ensure the use of internal communication tools to promote transparent and sufficient intercompany communication.
  • Approaches difficult conversations with employees and uses diplomacy in human resources issues; requests guidance from General Manager and Senior Management when handling delicate employee relations situation
  • Report all incidents and complaints to the upper management and home office team.
  • When needed, monitor overall store cleanliness including restrooms, office, and sales floor.
  • Opening and Closing manager when needed by General Manager
  • Cross training is a requirement.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements and Preferences

  • 2+ years’ experience in a fast‐paced client‐service intensive industry – hospitality and retail background preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience in a management role
  • Previous cannabis experience preferred.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years post‐secondary education in a related field preferred
  • Extended time standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Computer literacy and working knowledge of data systems.
  • Arithmetic necessary for basic inventory and cash management.
