The Opportunity:

The .NET Developer is a trusted resource and a subject matter expert with multiple application development teams to set and administer application-specific standards. The .NET Developer provides design recommendations based on long-term organization strategy as a technical expert. Leads development or major enhancements of applications as well as custom integration solutions to external applications, such as commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS).

Some of what you'll do:

• Independently creating, upgrading, maintaining, enhancing, testing, and replacing existing applications.
• Participates in iterative process improvements regarding the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC.)
• Designs and develops interfaces with business partners (state agencies as well as third parties.)
• Uses software development methods and tools to integrate and support custom-off-the-shelf (COTS) software and services.
• Coordinates with vendor technical staff to implement system upgrades and enhancements.
• Decomposes high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements.
• Troubleshooting and resolving complex application, interface, and data-related issues.
• Ensures security and privacy requirements are met.

Ways you can qualify:

Additional Required Experience:

• Expert knowledge of application development principles, concepts, technologies, current industry standards, and the Microsoft technology stack including Windows, Visual Studio, IIS, .NET C#, SQL, TFS, SharePoint, etc.
• Working knowledge of Agile values and principles as they apply to application development.
• Working knowledge of Scrum development methodologies, artifacts, and traditions.
• Working knowledge of DevOps concepts.

Desirable/Preferred Skills:

• .NET Developer training or certification
• Agile Training or Certification
• Experience maintaining and supporting IT applications in a 7-day-a-week / 24-hour-a-day availability situation.
• Experience in Unisys COBOL, UCOB MCB TIP Programs interfacing with Web Services, 2200 Executive Control Language (ECL), DMS 2200 database software, and SSG.
