Provides assistance and guidance in the use, selection, and user training of hardware and software systems. Provides technical advice in the design of voice and data networks and the operations of network control centers. Assists troubleshooting computer hardware, software, and network devices. Other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
30% - Essential - Hardware and Software Support: Designs hardware configurations and installs hardware. Meets with vendors to discuss and evaluate software packages. Provides advice and direction to agency on purchases of hardware and software, conducts feasibility studies, collects survey data and compiles and produces survey results and presents written recommendations to management. Supports IT needs of multiple offices remotely and on-site.
25% - Essential - System Operation: Coordinates operation of system, monitors system storage, maintains all system documentation, monitors all system maintenance and maintains records of equipment and replacement plan. Supports Active Directory and PC/Mac computer management systems. Configures and maintains computer equipment.
20% - Essential - Network Center Support: Supervises and coordinates the planning for network control center activities. Applies state-of-the-art technology to meet and improve network control center. Assists in support of VoIP network telephone systems.
15% - Essential - Technical Advisor: Conducts interviews to determine user needs and provides technical advice to management concerning office automation needs, micro and minicomputers, voice and data networks and mainframe interfacing. Advises agency committees and performs planning, design and evaluations relative to communication networking and operations layouts.
10% - Essential - Training: Trains users in the proper utilization of hardware and software, as well as writes training manuals.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A high school diploma and experience in computer system development and modification. A bachelor's degree in a related area may be substituted for the required experience.

Certfications - A+ Certification
Work Exp 3+ years

Standard Hrs: 37.5; Expected Salary Range ($38,900 - $55,000)
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Essential Level 1 employee
Required to respond during an emergency closure or modified operations in order to provide the University's initial response to the emergency situation, including the execution of mission essential functions. Some positions in this category may be required to work remotely or be on-call.
JOB LOCATION:
This position will be housed in either the Richland or Orangeburg County Extension Office.
