Overview

Job responsibilities will include:

  • Leveraging the latest trends in DR/CooP technology including cloud and Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) to help develop creative solutions that meet the needs of our customer.
  • Evaluating current DR test strategies and environment, and providing recommendations to close gaps and/or improve the DR test capabilities.
  • Working with Information Security specialists to recommend DR strategies for IT infrastructures supporting the business processes.
  • Working across all aspects of the business, IT and support areas to define criticality of business functions and processes and identify alignment to technologies.
  • Update and maintain DR Plan that supports the ADS strategy, requirements, scenarios, and recovery time/position objectives and resiliency/redundancy requirements for IT infrastructure and systems.
  • Recommend data replication, backup, and retention requirements.
  • Develop, update, and maintain existing and new DR architectures.
  • Conduct training and establish scheduled DR tests; track and report DR test results and lessons learned; incorporate lessons learned into the DR Plan.
  • Support relocation planning and transition to DR infrastructure.
  • Other Cloud Services team duties as required.

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of IT recovery strategies plans, testing of plans, lessons learned, and corrective action plans.
  • Strong knowledge of Public, Private, and Hybrid Cloud capabilities and their applicability to DR/COOP.
  • A working knowledge of network and storage architecture
  • Working knowledge of VMWare administration
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure design and operation.
  • Administration and management of Azure & Azure Gov environments.
  • A working knowledge of NIST 800-34 and 53, FISMA standards, and compliance relating to Business Continuity, COOP, DR, and information security.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across multiple levels and functions
  • Knowledge of various infrastructure technologies such server clustering, intra-site load balancing, fail-over replication and mirroring, active-active, active-passive, point-in-time data recovery, systems security, and monitoring.

Environmental Factors

Work is performed in a standard office setting, but some travel may be required for which private means of transportation should be available. Work outside of regular business hours may be expected.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science AND two (2) years or more in IT architecture and design processes/constraints including design and management of physical/virtual platforms, application dependencies, system performance, failover and high availability mechanisms, capacity planning, network topology, application interoperability and service orientation frameworks and security/compliance standards such as NIST, IRS 1075, HIPAA.


OR


Associate's degree in computer science AND four (4) years or more years or more in IT architecture and design processes/constraints including design and management of physical/virtual platforms, application dependencies, system performance, failover and high availability mechanisms, capacity planning, network topology, application interoperability and service orientation frameworks and security/compliance standards such as NIST, IRS 1075, HIPAA.


OR


High school diploma or equivalent and six (6) years or more in IT architecture and design processes/constraints including design and management of physical/virtual platforms, application dependencies, system performance, failover and high availability mechanisms, capacity planning, network topology, application interoperability and service orientation frameworks and security/compliance standards such as NIST, IRS 1075, HIPAA
