Suncoast Behavioral Health Center opened its doors in 2014 and provides the highest quality of behavioral healthcare for patients in a safe, secure and nurturing environment. Suncoast Behavioral Health Center is a 60-bed free-standing psychiatric hospital. We offer diverse inpatient and residential programs for children and adolescents.

In a highly specialized field of psychiatry, our goal is to promote cognitive, social, physical and emotional development to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills to help our patients succeed.

The Hospital is looking for an IT Support Specialist which will provide on-site support for 2 locations. All hospital based IT systems needs include: installs, maintains, troubleshoots and upgrades the hospital’s computers, servers, phone and security systems. The IT Support Specialist troubleshoots a variety of technical support problems related to the hospital’s technology systems. The IT Support Specialist performs maintenance duties on all computer, phone and security systems.

PRIMARY IT RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain the facility equipment, computer hardware and software, user access and logins.
  • Ensure that the master files are current.
  • Preparing manuals and user guide for training purposes and for the use of users.
  • Troubleshooting day-to-day problems with software and hardware systems and fixing them in a timely manner.
  • Upgrading the software solutions as well as the hardware systems to solve the problems as and when they arise.
  • Maintaining, monitoring and coordinating the use and installation of software and hardware components according to company policy.
  • Continuously working toward improving the performance of the systems.
  • Working closely with the management and other teams in achieving the organizational goal.
  • Serves as the facility liaison with Corporate IT.
  • Assists with special projects.
  • Provides level of support for phone systems.
  • Adhere to facility, department, corporate, personnel and standard policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science preferred. Equivalent to completion of two years college coursework in computer science, information technology or related field.
  • Prefer three (3) years’ experience working in the computer field. Knowledge of current computer hardware, software and programming skills, troubleshooting and repairing computers, printers, telephone systems and other IT systems throughout the facility.
  • Skills: Organizational skills and understanding of confidentiality are required. Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate diplomacy, flexibility and excellent communication skills. The ability to be self-directed/work independently, showing sound judgment is essential.
  • Physical Requirements: May be required to perform moderate lifting (minimum weight of 25 lbs); repetitive lifting; repetitive bending/stooping; standing for long periods of time; repetitive motions using fingers and forearms in data entry.
  • Additional Requirements: Must possess valid driver’s license. May be required to work flexible hours and willing to travel between two UHS facilities located in Bradenton, Florida.
