Junior Estimator

ConRock Construction LLC is a general contractor specializing in affordable housing renovation across New York City. We perform both tenant in place rehabilitation as well as gut renovations.

ConRock is seeking a detail-oriented team player to join our growing team as a Junior Estimator. The Junior Estimator will conduct takeoffs, review drawings, specification, and written scope of work documents to generate job cost estimates and solicit and level subcontractor bids.

Prerequisites

· Familiarity with construction cost estimating

· Two years of estimating, procurement, or construction management is preferred

· Ability to read and interpret construction drawings (plans, sections, elevations)

· Experience conducting quantity takeoffs, preferred use of PlanSwift or other software

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Preparing Job Cost Estimates tasks include conducting takeoffs; reading and annotating drawings, specifications, and scope of work documents; interpreting job schedules and contract documents; generating Value Engineering ideas; and preparing cost estimates in Microsoft Excel.

Review and Leveling Subcontractor Proposals tasksinclude researching and vetting suppliers and subcontractors; evaluating and leveling quotes, proposals, and bids.

Reviewing cashflow and real time job cost analysis tasks include tracking market conditions; projected vs actual job costing; and working with procurement officer to incorporate on-site feedback.

Reports to Chief Estimator

Location primary office in Pelham, NY; satellite office in Hoboken, NJ

Schedule Monday – Friday, full-time, in-person, salaried position
