Kindergarten Instructional Assistant Job at The Archdiocese of Baltimore
The Cathedral School, located in Baltimore is seeking a qualified Kindergarten Instructional Assistant for the 2023-24 school year.
The Instructional Assistant works as an aide to the classroom teacher to assist in teaching a diverse population of children in an atmosphere of kindness that encourages active inquiry, fosters individual growth and promotes respect for self, others and the world in which they live. In that all students learn the basic and essential skills at the primary grade level.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work under the direction of the classroom teacher to implement instruction in concert with the school's mission and vision
- Support classroom management using school-wide positive behavior intervention and support (PBIS) standards
- Participate in the active supervision of students at all times, including outside duties such as morning drop off/pick up as needed
- Assist students with remedial and re-teaching activities
- Works with the teacher in creating a classroom environment conducive to learning by employing a variety of appropriate teaching strategies.
- Works with the teacher in providing progress through authentic observations.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree preferred
- Knowledge of child development and supervision
- Knowledge of the Catholic faith preferred
