Position Overview

The primary focus of this role is to provide a wide range of administrative services for department managers. To execute this role effectively the assistant should have a high degree of situational awareness and be technically proficient, able to work independently, proactive, flexible, adaptable, self-motivated, and a team player. Works effectively in a complex and demanding environment while maintaining a professional attitude and demeanor. Continually requires a high degree of autonomy. The role necessitates collaborating with multiple projects and departments.

District Overview

Kiewit’s Southern California District is one of Kiewit’s leading infrastructure districts specializing in heavy civil projects that include earth moving, water/wastewater, transportation, roadways, and power projects. Most of our work is concentrated in the Southern California region, with some work in Hawaii.

Location

Kiewit’s Southern California District is based out of the Santa Fe Springs, CA office and in Los Angeles, CA and supports projects throughout the Southern California region, building out project/construction schedules for all types of infrastructure work across the region.

Responsibilities

  • The Labor Compliance Coordinator will provide general compliance support to construction projects requiring prevailing wage and other specific contracted labor requirements.
  • Track and review certified payroll for internal self-performing labor and external subcontractors on projects.
  • Evaluate all public contracts (and any private that have special requirements) for labor requirements (certified payroll, skilled labor, local hire, diversity, and other such labor related requirements), and work with the project teams and appropriate departments to ensure appropriate plan in place to monitor and report, as well as to ensure proper submissions to agencies
  • Complete periodic audits on projects to verify compliance
  • Participate in risk assessment on the Compliance Programs and communicate to project teams
  • Monitor and stay up to date of labor and compliance laws and regulations that might affect the company policies and procedures
  • Participate in external party and government reviews, audits and inquiries, working in conjunction with necessary district teams

Qualifications

  • 2+ years’ of labor and compliance oversight with projects that include prevailing wages
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to readily interface with diverse personnel including senior management, field personnel, agency personnel, officials, and the public
  • Strong computer skills: Office, Excel, Word, Outlook and familiarity with ERP systems and experience with LCP Tracker
  • Ability to follow through on commitments and projects
  • Strong planning, organizational and administrative skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to understand and comply with existing procedures and willing and capable to improve those as needed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $53,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
