The Laboratory Manager, Analytical Development, reporting to the Sr. Director of QC, will be responsible for management of the day-to-day operational logistics of multiple laboratories (groups) within the Analytical Development and QC department, located in RTP. This position will also support laboratory quality and internal requirements for sample management and equipment. This position will be located at AskBio’s headquarters in RTP (Durham), NC.
Responsibilities

Organize, implement, coordinate, enforce and/or monitor quality assurance programs.

Ensure quality control and compliance procedures are followed in the laboratory.

Assisting with sample management including receiving, sample tracking using GXP complaint software (LIMS).

Order, receive, ship and track laboratory equipment and supplies.

Establish and maintain an inventory system for reagents, supplies and equipment.

Track and perform equipment calibrations and preventative maintenance.

Maintain equipment maintenance binders and SOPs.

Coordinate waste management (red bag and waste streams).

Perform lab tasks as needed, including but not limited to, equipment monitoring and calibration.

Track and manage common consumables inventory for use by multiple teams.

Assist with and maintain inventory tracking for contents of fridges and freezers.

May be required to perform lab tasks as needed including but not limited to equipment cleaning, maintenance, monitoring and calibration, reagent, and media prep.

Oversee the cleaning and sanitization of the lab and ensuring all equipment and instruments function correctly.

Arrange equipment replacement, service, and repair.

Develops, updates, and assists with the enforcement of laboratory policies and procedures; coordinates the development and implementation of laboratory safety and care standards; ensures updated Material Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are readily available.

Schedule safety trainings for current and new hires and enforce safety around PPEs (personal protective equipment’s)
Required Education & Experience
-
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree.
-
3 to 5 years’ experience of lab management in biology, potency, molecular biology, biochemistry, or related field.

Ability to handle multiple projects/teams simultaneously.

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, highly interactive environment with minimal supervision.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
