Position Summary

Southern Land Company, a national real estate development and construction firm headquartered in Nashville, TN is seeking a full-time Landscape Designer to join our dynamic team. Our focus on design and quality development has allowed our expansion throughout the country into extraordinary cities and onto exceptional sites.

Summary Description:

The Landscape Designer will assist Project Managers in documenting projects from concepts through construction administration

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers in documenting projects from concepts through construction administration

• Assist in the production, organization, coordination, and accuracy of all design and presentation documents

• Work on a variety of project types and at various scales – i.e. Mixed Use/ Multi-family/ Single Family Developments

• Participate in multiple projects in various stages of development simultaneously

• Work with the project team to produce presentation materials

• Research and specify materials, products and systems

Skills/Knowledge/Experience

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

• Ability to keep sensitive information highly confidential

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to deal professionally with clients, vendors, and co-workers on the phone and in person.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to take initiative, use good judgment, demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail, and carry multiple projects through to completion.

• Ability to work independently, prioritize work and ask for further clarification when necessary.

• Ability to work under pressure with tight time constraints, as well as the ability to deal with frequent interruptions, unresolved situations, frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Landscape Architecture

• 0-2 years of post-graduate related professional experience including project management, design, and detailing with a well-accomplished firm

• Experience with urban planning design, principles and projects, and municipal and environmental regulation research

• Knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Cloud

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Revit and Lumion
