Landscape Production Supervisor

DEPARTMENT: Landscape Maintenance (LM)

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

High School Diploma or equivalent; 5 years’ experience leading production teams with a commercial landscape company.

PURPOSE:

1. Provide leadership/direction and scheduling for all LM field operation teams to ensure safety while maintaining budgeted GPM.

2. Coordinate the procurement and scheduled use of resources, including labor, equipment and materials to ensure safe completion of work, required work quality, and maximum productivity.

3. Provide training to promote the growth and development of all field operations staff to achieve maximum safety, work quality and productivity.

SUPERVISOR: LM Manager

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Understands the primary importance of positive client relations and assists the Landscape Manager in maintaining positive relations with all clients.

· Manages and schedules labor, equipment and materials to accomplish a budgeted Gross Profit Margin (GPM) thru maximum productivity amongst all teams in the designated LM Division.

· Understand contract specifications and ensures they are met, communicates closely with LM Manager and provides updates as warranted.

· Provide most recent plans and/or documents to field staff at the beginning of the day and provide instruction to ensure Team Leader and crew are prepared to complete the job.

· Ensures all work is completed in adherence to safety policies and guidelines. Conducts weekly safety training and safety inspections on job-sites

· Visit job sites on a regular basis, observing organization of work, identifying and resolving training issues, and taking necessary actions to ensure quality.

· Investigates any accident or safety violation, prepares appropriate reports, takes action steps to correct and prevent future occurrences. Defines and implements solutions to reoccurring accidents or most common hazards

· Assists the DM in maintenance of proper inventory of materials and equipment to ensure an efficient job completion.

· Assists the DM in ordering materials, equipment and supplies as needed within purchasing limits.

· Manage employees by keeping attendance records, enforcing proper uniform and safety policies, and approving time cards.

· Assists the DM with overall human resource management of field staff within division; includes hiring, firing, raining, coaching, mentoring and developing staff to reach established goals for the individual and division. Identify and develop Team Leaders.

· Assists the DM maintain sufficient staff to accomplish production schedules and analyzes future needs, forecasting staff and material needs to complete future jobs

· Conducts timely performance reviews of direct reports and take corrective actions when appropriate.

· Coordinate the use of labor, equipment, materials and other resources with other divisions as needed

· Respond to customer complaints ensuring proper handling to achieve excellent customer satisfaction

· Maintain day-to-day working knowledge of all contracts in progress, including field completion status, billings to-date and progress payments

· Maintains costs within all assigned budgets

· Monitors job costs weekly and immediately reports to LM Manager any jobs deviating from budgets of time, schedule, cost or any other factor so appropriates adjustments can be made to maximize end result.

· Maintain a high level of good housekeeping and care of company assets in the field, vehicles, shop, field offices and customer work-sites.

· Stay aware of Best Practices. Develop and recommend improved work methods and standards.

· Other duties as assigned by the LM Operations Integrator and/or DM.

Compensation: $62,400 base salary

Base Salary: $62,400

Monthly performance bonus for meeting budget $3,600

Year-end financial performance bonus $6,000

Total compensation goal: $72,000

Other potential compensation:

$30 per week bonus once ISA certified arborist achieved or TNLA or NALP certified professional or TCEQ irrigation license

Approx. $6K year-end financial performance bonus
