Position Summary
The Hispanic Collaborative is an initiative focused on advancing Milwaukee into the nation’s top 10 cities on the Hispanic Well-Being Index by raising the economic prosperity of the community. The Collaborative, a direct outcome of community visioning by over 100 local leaders, seeks to provide leadership, process, best-practice and structure for the Hispanic community to develop strategies and align resources to improve economic outcomes for Hispanics. It focuses on three key areas: increasing prosperity; growing entrepreneurship; and increasing civic participation. The team is housed in the MMAC, leveraging critical support from regional and community organizations.
The Program Director will play a critical role in advancing progress towards accomplishing our mission objectives. Their daily responsibilities include aligning projects with mission and objectives, managing and constructing detailed work plans, managing partners and teams participating in the effort, achieving milestones, and communicating the results to stakeholders. Projects include upskilling initiatives within the Latino workforce, increasing the number of Latino owned businesses, and increasing Latino civic participation. Projects involve heavy outreach and communication with other Latino organizations, organizations supporting the ecosystem of our workforce and business communities, and the broader Latino community.
Driving strategic collaboration forward to achieve our goals, their responsibilities will focus on managing, tracking and measurement of our progress on key initiatives, growing partner participation, developing community awareness and support, and internal and external communications regarding the initiatives, efforts and outcomes.
Strong candidates should have experience with planning and executing strategy initiatives, strong written and oral communication skills, experience managing several projects simultaneously, strong leadership experience, meaningful connections to the Latino community, and the ability to both see the “big picture”, while attending to details and getting things done. They must be capable of maintaining realistic balance among multiple priorities. Strong candidates will have a start-up sensibility, impatience for results, and a willingness to play an active, behind-the-scenes role.
Major Duties/Responsibilities
· Develop, execute, manage and lead successful execution of high priority cross-functional projects
· Collect and maintain effective data to inform community partners
· Capture, maintain, analyze and document input and insight from the work team and community outcomes
· Communication initiative priorities, updates and progress to internal and external audiences both written and verbally, across multiple constituencies in multiple modalities
· Preparation of reports, proposals, briefings, and presentations, and responses on initiatives and strategic issues
· Builds and nurtures relationships to serve as a resource for the Hispanic Collaborative to resolve complex issues and help move forward strategic priorities
· Build, develop and lead the project team to ensure maximum performance, providing purpose, direction, and motivation
· Establish and maintain relationships with appropriate partners and stakeholders
- Developing an inclusive strategic plan and strategy by collaborating with the HC team, board, and community partners
- Identifying and cultivate strategic partnership opportunities and financial supporters for our mission
· Plans and participates in key meetings with Community, Initiative leadership, and others as needed to help drive understanding, progress and move decision-making forward
· Manages a variety of high priority, high visibility partnerships and activities which engage the Hispanic, public and business communities
· Build understanding, trust, and support for the goals and mission of the Hispanic Collaborative among partners and stakeholders
· Develop effective partnerships across disparate groups to organize and facilitate decisions and ensure implementation
· Represent the Board and President’s values and commitment in high profile engagements with business, organizational and community leaders
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree and five years' experience working in complex organizational environments; economic or workforce development, and/or collective impact programs preferred
- A minimum of 3 years of experience influencing and working closely with executive level leaders
· Entrepreneurial with a strong ability to identify new opportunities and connect organizations and individuals to work towards shared goals
· Exceptional written, presentation and verbal communication skills that can be applied across levels
· Ability to speak in Spanish; reading/writing in Spanish preferred
· Excellent organization, planning, time management and problem-solving skills
· Proven track record of leading diverse groups to organize and facilitate decisions and execute strategy
· Experience balancing leadership with detailed execution
· Excellent demonstrated judgment and diplomacy in working with diverse groups to address complex issues
· Unquestioned integrity and transparency
· Organized and able to self-manage to achieve goals and objectives
· Committed to the vision and mission of the Hispanic Collaborative

· Working with a Board of Directors and/or board appointed committees
· Principles and procedures for implementing and directing a wide variety of fund raising, sponsorship programs and projects
· Fiscal and budgetary administration and accounting methods and procedures
· Principles of project management; lean, lean start-up and six sigma
· Political and public processes
· Management of volunteers
· Management of grants
