Summary: Under the direction of the Resident Service Coordinator the CNA Supervisor is expected to serve in a leadership role with other Aides to complete all required documentation, assure that all care of daily living is administered appropriately, to solve problems, and to communicate with the staff of the next shift. Performs basic and routine quality care to the residents including assisting them in the activities of daily living and other personal care tasks.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Delegates tasks to Direct Care Staff.
  • Assign and inform direct care staff of schedules.
  • Ensure timely response by direct care staff to resident’s needs, mealtime, fluids and meal recording, patient care and ADL’s.
  • Monitor and perform consistent safety practices.
  • Implement direct care staff adherence to all facility policies and procedures.
  • Ensure direct care staff documentation is completed accurately and timely.
  • Assist with staff development and skills review.
  • Provide direct client care and other related duties as assigned by Resident Service Coordinator.
  • Assist RSC with schedules, coordinating vacation requests and ill calls to ensure appropriate coverage.
  • Act as the first level, “go to person” for direct care staff regarding troubleshooting issues.
  • Provide first level support as a patient services liaison to resolve issues surrounding

complaints, and then communicating findings to RSC.

  • Facilitate the orientation and training of new direct care staff.
  • Assist patients with concern and empathy.
  • Respect patient confidentiality and privacy.
  • Communicate in a courteous and respectful fashion.
  • Prioritize tasks to ensure optimum services to residents as requests and needs change.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Maintains a valid license certificate as a Licensed Practical Nurse, Certified Nursing Assistant or Registered Medical Assistance in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.
  • Proven PCT/ CNA /MA knowledge and leadership capability.
  • High School Degree/GED required.
  • Minimum years (2) year experience as a Certified Patient Care Technician, Certified Nursing Assistant or Registered Medical Assistance and a desire to serve and care for children.
  • Demonstrates leadership competencies.
  • Ability to make choices, decisions and act in the facility best interest.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication and documentation.
  • Competent in organizational, time management skills.
  • Demonstrates good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Consistent and accurate patient care and documentation.
  • Compassionate, kind, caring, dedicated, reliable and a team-player.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times

Must be able to move intermittently throughout the work day performing such activities as grasping, lifting, reaching, and to perform light physical work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a frequent basis and up to 50 pounds, unassisted, on an occasional basis. Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing. Carries out detailed written or verbal instructions. Must be capable of functioning independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, their families and personnel.

Special Demands:

  • Must respect close supervision.

Job Knowledge:

  • On-the-job training is continued via orientation and in-service programs.

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
