SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

The Systems Engineering Asset Management System team supports Infrastructure Maintenance and Construction Services (IMCS) and Amtrak’s Engineering disciplines—Track, Communications & Signals (C&S), Bridges & Buildings (Structures), Electric Traction (ET), and Maintenance of Way (MoW) Equipment—by guiding the development and implementation of Amtrak’s Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system in support of asset management strategies to deliver solutions that reduce asset downtime, extend equipment life, and optimize system performance to reduce the overall cost of asset management. The Systems Engineering Asset Management Systems team establishes robust partnerships with the IMCS Division Maintenance and Production and the Engineering disciplines (Track, Communications & Signals, Electric Traction, Bridges & Buildings, Equipment & Facilities) to guide development of Amtrak’s asset management system and drive an industry-leasing asset management practice.
The Lead Data Analyst is responsible for managing extract-transform-load (ETL) data processes to support timekeeping, inspections, and work management in Maximo. The Lead Data Analyst performs regular system audits to ensure data accuracy. The Lead Data Analyst fulfills data requests from across the Industrial & Systems Engineering Department to support reporting functions, from regular field reports to executive reports. The Lead Data Analyst supports all data streams for IMCS Division Maintenance and Production and Engineering Disciplines.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Understanding of databases (Oracle/SQL)
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel and Maximo
  • Proficiency in Tableau

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Data Analysis, etc. or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Demonstrated Work experience collecting asset data at field locations
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Understanding of Maximo, asset and work management system, organizational and business processes
  • Working knowledge of ISO 55000, PAS 55, or other Asset Management standards
  • Working knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS)


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Primarily office work environment.
  • Travel up to 25%.

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.


The salary/hourly range is $100,580-$130,350. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. Depending on an employee’s assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee’s base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position and/or long-term incentive plan compensation. In accordance with DOT regulations (49 CFR § 40.25), Amtrak is required to obtain prior drug and alcohol testing records for applicants/employees intending to perform safety-sensitive duties for covered Department of Transportation positions. If an applicant/employee refuses to provide written consent for Amtrak to obtain these records, the individual will not be permitted to perform safety-sensitive functions.


In accordance with federal law governing security checks of covered individuals for public transportation ( Title 6 U.S.C. § 1143), Amtrak is required to screen applicants for any permanent or interim disqualifying criminal offenses.
