The Housing Department provides safe and sustainable housing opportunities that preserves and expand the communities of the Seminole Tribe of Florida. The Housing Department provide homeownership opportunities, emergency home repairs and rental housing for Tribal Members through a variety of programs. We are looking for someone with the Electrical/Generator Technician specialty however all our work is Residential, so you may be needed to assist with other duties such as HVAC, plumbing, dry wall repair, putting up hurricane shutters, etc. The staff schedule is full-time Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm plus a monthly on-call rotation for afterhours and weekends. Note the Housing Office is located on the Hollywood Reservation 5700 Griffin Road, Davie, FL 33314 however the techs cover Tribal homes within a 100 mile radius. We do provide a work vehicle to use during your shift, and you only take it home when it's your week being on-call which usually works out to every 4 weeks.

Position Summary

The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing assistance to the Housing Regional Managers in various functions related to the safety operation of generator systems for residents of the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s. The individual assists with monitoring and maintaining inventory; ordering parts equipment and fluids and providing guidance and technical advice to the Generator Services Technicians. This position performs preventive maintenance and repairs services of all Seminole Tribe of Florida’s residential and commercial generator systems and also distributes fuel to residents in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining public safety.

Qualifications / Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent GED is required. Prior vocational training or job-related coursework is preferred, or, completion of an instructional program that prepares individuals to apply technical electrical knowledge and skills is preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of experience as in the repair and maintenance of generator equipment and/or uninterrupted power supply systems is required. Licensed Electrician is preferred. Must possess a valid Florida Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with a HAZMAT Endorsement or have the ability to obtain the license within nine (9) months of employment. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to travel to all Reservations and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
