Location/Division Specific Information
St. Louis, MO / Drug Substance Division - The Drug Substance Division is one of the five divisions that make up the Pharma Services Group. We specialize in both small and large molecule development and commercial drug substance services. This allows us to serve the needs of Small/Emerging, Mid-Sized, and Large Pharma sectors globally.
Work Schedule: 2nd Shift 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm Monday thru Friday
Discover Impactful Work:
As Lead Material Handler you will serve as a site expert for all material and equipment receipts as well as movements to support site operations. Manage warehouse space to use space efficiently while ensuring safety and compliance is met. Work with limited supervision on daily tasks while providing guidance and training to lower-level personnel.
A day in the Life:
- Receive incoming shipments of raw materials and equipment; process for delivery.
- Support equipment and material moves between buildings and warehouses.
- Consolidate raw materials to use warehouse space efficiently.
- Maintain cGMP compliance in material handling and storage, to include labeling, FEFO, segregation, documentation, cleaning, etc.
- Operate company vehicles and equipment in a safe compliant manner.
- Run reservation reports from SAP, identify, and pull required raw materials following all SOP’s. Manage SAP Work Orders and Preventative Maintenance notifications.
- Support packing and processing of product and site support shipments
- Perform cycle counts and investigate inventory variances as directed.
- Keep current on all required training and maintain cross training between all Logistics fields. Provide on the job training to lower level team members.
- Support departmental safety goals; serve as POC for all department near-misses and accident reports.
- Coordinate the removal of expired and hazardous materials.
Keys to Success:
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor degree or Associate degree in Supply Chain or related field with at 3 years of relevant logistic experience preferred but not required.
Experience
- 5 +years of proven experience; including 2 years in a leadership position, resulting in sound functional understanding of specific logistics processes and skills in accomplishing work through others is preferred but not required.
- CDL with Hazmat certification preferred but not required
- Skilled at operating a variety of fork trucks with Forklift Certification preferred but not required.
- Transportation of Hazardous Materials (Certification: IATA and 49CFR) preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Knowledge - Strong understanding of SAP as used for material receipt and issue, experienced in inventory control methods. Through understanding of cGMP requirements as they relate to material storage and handling.
- Skills - Able to operate all company vehicles and equipment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
- Position requires mobility between buildings, including exposure to inclement weather.
- Requires the ability to lift, push and pull 30-40 pounds consistently; may be required to lift 50 pounds, including operation and use of pushcarts, pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.
- Ability to use equipment/machinery/tools used may include forklifts, pallet jack, drum dolly, barrel hoist, strapping machine and company vehicles.
