Transmission Learning & Development is looking to add an instructional designer to build in-house learning solutions for Transmission Services. If you have a proven track record of applying adult learning theories to deliver engaging curricula, job aids, videos, e-learning, and other training materials that effectively align with business goals, we'd love to meet!
In this role, you will have ownership over start-to-finish course development as you work alongside subject matter experts. In some cases, you will act as the lead learning consultant, and identify learning needs and gaps, while closely collaborating with cross-functional departments to build, update, and improve training and supplemental documentation. You may be called upon to provide facilitation support as needed and will support the creation of team design standards for consistent delivery, look and feel. This role will include conducting administrative duties within our learning management system consisting of assigning training, managing permissions, uploading in-house content, and reporting.
This position requires a keen eye for detail, outstanding verbal and written communication, and the ability to balance changing priorities. The ideal candidate is determined, highly motivated, proficient in current learning trends and software, and capable of meeting quick turnaround times when needed.

- Works closely with department managers to understand unique business performance gaps and
- Creates, promotes, and delivers learning, development and mentorship solutions. Partners with
- Designs, develops and delivers employee development, leadership development and compliance
- Ensures learning and development programs are engaging and relevant to employees in various work
- Manages a wide variety of day-to-day learning and development activities.
- Utilizes learning management systems to administer training.
- Monitors and evaluates training programs to ensure maximum effectiveness.
- Ensures effective delivery mechanisms for learning solutions (e.g., classroom, web-based, blended
- Assists with establishing and managing the learning and development program budget.
- Provides managers with recommendations for their team needs and/or for specific team member needs.
- Collaborates with department leaders to ensure learning and development initiatives align with LCRA’s
- Manages vendors who deliver training on behalf of LCRA.
You qualify with:
- Nine or more years of experience in companywide and/or operational training and development programs or other relevant experience. A degree(s) in human resource management, business administration, or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
- Driver’s license
