Position Brief
We are looking for a full-time, organized, self-motivated and client service-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team. They will be working with our Senior Paralegal to draft estate planning documents for our clients as well as helping to ensure the effectiveness of our client’s estate plans by working with them, their financial advisors, and institutions to align assets.
Role and Responsibilities
- Preparation of estate planning documents including revocable and irrevocable trusts, wills, health care proxies, powers of attorney, living wills, HIPAA releases, and Trustee Certifications
- Preparation of client service agreements (contracts)
- Preparation of estate plan summaries (graphs)
- Gathering financial information and documentation from clients and follow up as necessary for any missing information
- Scanning and saving documents to cloud-based file storage
- Creation of preliminary asset alignment spreadsheet
- Preparation of documents necessary to align assets and coordinate with financial planner/institutions as needed
- Assisting attorney(s) in preparing for and conducting asset alignment meetings as well as completing follow-up, and corresponding with clients and financial advisors to facilitate alignment of any outstanding assets
- Communicating and corresponding with financial advisors, institutions, property and casualty insurance professionals, CPA’s, other attorneys as needed to facilitate the asset alignment of existing or new assets
- Assisting attorney(s) and paralegals as needed with projects and advanced plans and/or assist in other departments as the need may arise
- Demonstrating firm mission and values in all interactions with clients and team members
Requirements
- Have excellent follow-through skills in order to meet deadlines
- Professional demeanor and ability to confidently interact with clients and financial professionals
- Client service-oriented, with excellent communication skills (in person, phone and email)
- Be detail-oriented, organized and dependable
- Be dedicated to firm and team success and contribute to our friendly, upbeat work environment
- Possess a commitment to quality and strong work ethic
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Willingness to learn new systems, terminology and technology
- Previous experience in an estate planning or financial planning office a plus, but not required
- Familiarity with WealthDocx and Clio a plus, but not required

Pay: $42,000.00 - $47,000.00 per year
