Job Duties and Responsibilities
Document Delivery is a highly active and valued service within the Inter-library Loan Unit which benefits all NMSU Las Cruces users. This position ensures that NMSU Las Cruces campus users receive electronically-delivered research materials within a matter of minutes. Through this service, physical materials are often delivered to offices on the same day.

Supervises & direct the daily operations of the Library’s Request It! Deliver & Pick-Up Service. Responsible for the retrieval, delivery & pick-up of inter and intra-library loan materials requested by NMSU faculty, graduate students, and staff. Assist in operations for circulation as needed. Other duties as assigned
Classification Summary
Under direct supervision, performs defined tasks and/or services comprising one or more components of a library operational unit. Provides technical support and assistance in the performance of routine library duties in one or more library specializations, such as circulation, reference, archives, technical services, and collection maintenance.
Classification Standard Duties
Provides guidance and assistance to patrons regarding general and specific information about the library and library resources. With minimal supervision, performs and/or oversees routine tasks, utilizing automated database systems, to include materials check-in, circulation, searching, ordering of materials, and/or copy cataloging. Resolves routine operational problems and provides first-level troubleshooting of relevant library systems. Assists higher level staff and librarians with basic reference services; staffs public service desks, providing customer service and assistance. Carries out and communicates policies pertaining to unit services, operations, and activities. Assists with collection maintenance activities and projects as appropriate. May lead, guide, and train student employees, set work schedules, and ensure compliance with established procedures for a specific activity within a library unit. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge
Knowledge of general library procedures and policies; Knowledge of automated library functions.

Skill in following directions accurately.
Abilities
Ability to effectively communicate.
Required Education
High School diploma or GED certificate.
Required Experience
Three (3) years of experience related to the standard duties as outlined.
Equivalency Completion of a post-secondary degree or certificate may substitute for years of experience. Preferred Qualifications Required Certification/License Special Requirements
Possession of a valid driver’s license is a requirement for this job.
May require movement of books and miscellaneous materials.
