The Library Resources Manager is a hands-on position responsible for leading and overseeing the management and administration of the library resources, library training, and technical services firmwide. This role is accountable for ensuring seamless and reliable access to resources and the integrity of records in the library systems. A hybrid work schedule is available for this position.

- Provide strategic and operational direction for the management of library resources and technical services.
- Responsible for acquisitions and renewals, including collaborating with and supporting the Director in contract negotiations and managing strategic vendor relations.
- Facilitate access to and maintenance of electronic resources. Manage and maintain login credentials for all electronic services, providing access for firm personnel and manages access within boundaries of license agreements and copyright restrictions.
- Work closely with the library team, attorneys, and firm leaders to promote availability of resources and product enhancements to derive value from investments and help users effectively utilize resources to service clients.
- Lead library training strategy aimed at promoting learning, increasing awareness, and advancing effective use of library resources.
- Collaborate with the Library & Research team, the Attorney Development & Retention team, and firm leaders to assess information needs and provide effective training programs.
- Continuously assess resources to ensure they meet the business and practice needs of the firm. Conduct outreach to attorneys and professional staff to gain feedback and monitor trends in usage of electronic resources, recommending potential opportunities for improvement or resource change.
- Proactively stay abreast of new products and services and lead demos and trials, resource evaluations, and products recommendations.
- Work with the Library & Research team to maintain and improve library portal site, communication materials, and training sources.
- Direct the administration and management of technical services operations, including acquisitions, serials control, cataloging, and managing vendor accounts.
- Oversee the day-to-day administration and maintenance of the integrated library system (ILS), electronic resource management (ERM) system, and electronic resources access.
- Serve as liaison between library staff, users, IT staff, and vendors for inquiries and resolution of issues related to library resources and systems. Establish and maintain excellent vendor relations and coordinate vendor provided training.
- Collaborate with the manager to plan annual budget, monitor expenses, and prepare budget proposal for final review by Chief Knowledge Officer.
- In collaboration with other members of the library team, lead resource management and technical services projects, including library space planning and execution.
- Maintain knowledge of research in multiple practice areas and jurisdictions by handling research requests as time permits.
- Continue professional development through various firm and professional association sponsored activities.

Job Requirements:
- 7-10 years of library experience, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment
- Master’s Degree in Library Science or Juris Doctor Degree required. Work experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
- Deep professional knowledge of information resources, including advanced ability to critically filter and analyze information to evaluate and compare products and provide critical and relevant findings.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of integrated library systems and technical services processes and workflows.
- Research experience and proficiency in the use of both print and online resources.
- Superior technology skills with a curiosity and aptitude for new technology.
- Excellent communication skills and proven ability to build effective internal and external relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to present ideas effectively to individuals and groups in multiple settings, including in-person and web-based remote learning.
- Future focused, with demonstrated skill to anticipate and implement change.
- Dynamic self-starter with a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within and across departments and with all levels of personnel. Demonstrated ability to succeed in a team environment.

In accordance with applicable Federal and State laws, the anticipated annual salary range for this position, depending on location, is as follows: NYC: $123,723 to $188,619
In addition to a standard benefits package, this role may be eligible for additional contingent compensation based on an array of factors, including but not limited to: work performance, geographic location, work experience, education, and qualifications. Because such contingent compensation is not yet calculable or may be zero ($0) in some circumstances, the above-listed salary range is Nixon Peabody’s good faith estimate of the annual salary it reasonably expects to pay for the position at the time of this posting.
