Although COVID-19 itself is no longer an immediate threat in the long term care (LTC) environment, the emotional, cognitive, and behavioral sequalae of this past year are evident, and we at Deer Oaks are committed to doing our part to help individuals and facilities recover.

We offer geriatric-focused training and APA-accredited continuing education to our providers to assist in providing a foundation of relevant knowledge, in addition to offering consultation with colleagues to help support our new providers. We have opportunities for providing in-person diagnostic assessments, individual psychotherapy, and neuropsychological testing, in addition to opportunities for telehealth. We are hiring Licensed Psychologists to provide Behavioral Health care to short-term rehab patients in Skilled Nursing facilities and Rehabilitation Hospital settings. Services provided may include:

  • Assessment/Evaluation
  • Neurocognitive Testing (training provided)
  • Psychotherapy
  • Family therapy

This position involves working in a fast-paced environment within a brief rehab therapy model with a diverse patient population, while working within a multi-disciplinary team model involving patient, family, Primary Care, Rehab Staff, Psychiatry and Facility Staff. The goal of our Short Term Rehab psychologists and the treatment team is to motivate patients to maximize the efficacy of their rehab stay and assist in transition through their rehab program while incorporating testing, assessment, and collaboration data to provide input and develop the best plan of care and assist discharge planning. Psychologists working within this model experience a great range of professional treatment advancements and have a higher earning potential than traditional long- term care therapists.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral Level Psychologist licensed in the State of Texas (if relocating, willing to obtain TX license)
  • Experience working with the geriatric or rehab population (preferred)
  • Must meet credentialing standards of employer and CMS
  • Willing to travel to assigned Nursing Homes within the local area
  • Experience collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, and experience using Electronic Medical Records Systems
  • Must possess effective communication skills in order to interact with patients, families, and facility staff

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
