JOB SUMMARY:
JOB SUMMARY:
Performs lifeguard duties and administers first aid and emergency assistance as needed. Monitors the activities at public pools to prevent accidents and provide assistance. Position filled on temporary basis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following)
- Monitors all activity within pool and surrounding area.
- Makes rescues and provides emergency first aid within the boundaries of training.
- Maintains order and discipline; enforces policies, rules and regulations.
- Cautions swimmers regarding unsafe areas or conditions.
- Maintains pool area, lockers and equipment for general cleanliness.
- May collect fees.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications - External
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education and Experience:
- Any combination of education, training, and experience which produces knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job and related to the essential functions of the position.
- At least age 16.
Licenses and Certifications:
- American Red Cross Life Guard Training Certificate which includes Standard First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certificate will be required prior to performing life guarding duties on pool site.
Skills:
- Swimming and rescue activities.
- Administration of emergency first aid and artificial resuscitation.
Qualification Assessment: Oral Interview 100%
Passing Score: 70%
